Philip Spellacy has produced a range of artworks in various media but the primary output has been through the medium of paint with the main subject being landscapes created on location in the beautiful dales, moors and hills of Yorkshire.

In particular he has been drawn to Wharfedale which lies just to the north of Leeds. Here he has painted throughout the year and in his work can be seen the hills and valleys as they shelter from the icy blasts of winter.

We can also see Wharfedale as it lies basking in the warm and balmy days of mid-summer.

Of course the Alps can inspire too with their unique light and majesty as in the image above of mountains near to Mont Blanc in the heat of a mid-day sun.

As well as creating art work based on nature and the outdoors, Philip has also made sculpture such as The Annunciation, which is a lit sculptural piece. Image below shows head of Gabriel from this work.
