Philip Spellacy has a Masters Degree in Contemporary Fine Art Practice awarded by Leeds Metropolitan University in 2005.

Since graduation he has produced an impressive body of work and has exhibited in England and Austria.

His paintings are often distinguished by their vivid colour and powerful energy .                                                                                                                                                                                     

He has also created mixed media work, drawings and sculpture such as in 'Torso' below, an assemblage in stone.

Philip lives in Yorkshire, which is a beautiful county of in the north of England.

A large body of Philip's work is thus inspired by the wondeful landscape in which he lives.      

He has also visited and worked in the Alps where he created a series of paintings on location in the mountains of France, Switzerland, Germany and Austria, such as the image below of Mont Blanc by moonlight.

Philip Spellacy also spent many years touring the world as a puppet artist after graduating with a Fine Art Degree from Leeds Polytechnic in 1970. During that time he travelled extensively and appeared at international festivals of puppetry arts in Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Iran, Ireland, Korea, Mexico, Pakistan, Poland, Scotland, Spain and Tenerife. As well as working in the puppetry medium, Philip also performed as a actor and worked in the early 1970's in such highly acclaimed companies as 'Foot's Barn Theatre',Cornwall, and 'Doggs Troupe' of Interaction, London.
